Is it compatible with article 66-5 regarding professional secrecy?
Yes, and that is precisely the plugin’s raison d’être. Files are encrypted server-side before being written to disk, hosted on your own infrastructure, and no data passes through a third party. The encryption key resides on your server, not with the developer. The timestamped audit trail can be exported and sealed should a dispute arise. No telemetry, no remote access, no backdoors — full sovereignty is the core ethical argument.
I already have RPVA and e-Barreau. Why add another tool?
RPVA is for your exchanges with the courts; e-Barreau is for internal bar association communication. Neither is designed for day-to-day exchanges with the end client — which remains your current ethical blind spot. Client Vault handles exactly this segment, without interfering with your RPVA/e-Barreau setup.
Will my elderly clients be able to use it?
The space opens simply with a username and password. Several notaries report that their clients over 70 use the vault without assistance after 2-3 sessions.
Who sees our files on the Client Vault publisher side?
Nobody. Files are AES-256 encrypted on your disk with a key stored on your end (in the site root, 600 permissions). We, the publisher, have no access, no telemetry, and no back-doors. If you shut down your server, we cannot recover anything — which is exactly the point. You can verify this by reading the source code: it is an open GPL plugin.
Can I migrate from Secib Cloud or Dropbox Business?
Yes. A guided import script brings existing files into the client vaults. The support team assists you with initial migrations at no extra cost, as part of Pro support.
Where is the data hosted?
On your own WordPress server, at the host of your choice, in the country of your choice. If your host is in France (OVH, o2switch), your data is in France. No data goes to Google, Amazon, Microsoft, or Anthropic. You retain full control over the location.
How do I delegate to my staff/interns?
The plugin declares the cv_manage_vault capability. You assign it via WordPress roles to your assistant, staff member, or intern. Everyone has their own scope (by default: all folders; optional restrictions by client tag). Internal notes remain reserved for partners.
What if the Client Vault plugin disappears tomorrow?
Your data remains intact on your server. The source code is open (GPL). Your documents, exports, and audit logs are independent of the plugin and readable with any standard WordPress tool. This is the opposite of Secib Cloud: if Septeo closes tomorrow, your documents are rented, and you must retrieve them.
