Are my accounting documents truly confidential?
Yes. AES-256-CBC encryption at rest, HMAC-SHA256 integrity, hosted on YOUR WordPress server, not in a third-party cloud. The encryption key is stored locally on your end (600 permissions). No telemetry, no remote access, no back-doors — the developer sees NOTHING. Native GDPR (RGPD) compliant and adheres to professional accounting secrecy requirements.
I already use Cegid, Sage, or Pennylane. Why add Client Vault?
Cegid / Sage manage your entries and filings. Pennylane is your collaborative back-office. None are designed for day-to-day exchanges with the end client regarding financial statements, supporting documents, or certificates. Client Vault handles exactly this segment without touching your accounting ERP. Includes Webhook + REST API if you want to connect everything.
Will my executive clients actually use it?
The space is accessed via a simple secure link sent by email or SMS. No password to create, no app to install. Several firms report that their executive clients aged 50+ use the vault without assistance from the second time onwards.
Who sees our files on the Client Vault side?
No one. Files are AES-256 encrypted on your disk with a key stored on your premises. The publisher has no access, no telemetry, and no back-door. The source code is open (GPL) and verifiable. If you shut down your server, the publisher cannot recover anything — that is precisely the point.
Can I migrate from MyUnisoft or a shared drive?
Yes. An assisted import script retrieves existing files into the client vaults. The support team guides you through your first migrations, at no extra cost, as part of Pro support.
Where is my client data hosted?
On your own WordPress server, with the host of your choosing, in the country of your choice. If your host is in France (OVH, o2switch, Ikoula, Infomaniak), your files are in France. No data goes to Google, Amazon, or Microsoft. You remain in control of the location.
How can I delegate to my staff and interns?
The plugin registers the cv_manage_vault capability. You assign it via WordPress roles to your assistant, staff member, or intern. Everyone has their own scope (default: all folders; optional restrictions by client tag). Internal notes remain reserved for partners.
What if Client Vault disappears tomorrow?
Your data remains intact on your server. The source code is open (GPL). Your documents, exports, and audit logs are independent of the plugin and readable with any standard WordPress tool. There is no vendor lock-in risk, unlike with Pennylane or Cegid Cloud.
