High Ticket Coach: how to increase your NPS from 42 to 81 in one quarter

Coach hight Ticket : comment passer son NPS de 42 à 81 en un trimestre

In brief: for a high-ticket coach with 30 clients at an average ticket of 6,000 €, the challenge is not the coaching itself — it is the experience outside the sessions that determines satisfaction and retention. Here is the method that brought an NPS from 42 to 81 in one quarter, without changing the session content.

This composite case reflects what I regularly observe with high-end executive coaches and independent consultants who adopt Client Vault Pro. The figures and progress are representative, not individual. The logic, however, is identical in all the cases I have seen.

The starting point

Independent executive coach, 12 years of experience, working mainly with SME executives and top managers of large groups. Portfolio of 30 active clients, average ticket of 6,000 € per 6-month engagement. Excellent word-of-mouth, agenda full six months in advance. On paper, everything is going well.

The warning signal comes from the internal NPS measured at the end of each mission. It hovers around 42 — a good raw score, but stagnant for three years. More importantly, negative comments always return to the same points. “Difficult to track progress between sessions.” “I would have liked to review the summary of the previous session.” “Not always easy to find the resources you sent me.”

The diagnosis

Coaching in itself is excellent — that is precisely why clients come. The problem is on the periphery. Between two sessions scheduled two weeks to a month apart, the client is left on their own. Notes taken during the session remain in the coach’s notebook. Resources are shared via email and get lost in the shuffle. There is no visible common thread between sessions.

Executive clients, by nature, live their working lives in ultra-structured environments. They have dashboards, tracking tools, and shared spaces. When they return to their coach and encounter a workflow that is primarily oral and email-based, the discrepancy is perceived — even if they do not explicitly articulate it.

The implemented architecture

Client Vault Pro was installed on the coach’s existing WordPress site, using a client-portal subdomain. Each client received their personal space upon signing the contract. The space contains four areas: session agenda, personalized resources, session journal, and current focus areas.

After each session, the coach spends fifteen to twenty minutes structuring the summary: topics covered, key insights, exercises to complete before the next meeting, and recommended resources. Everything is deposited into the client’s space, who receives a notification the following morning.

Ratios observed at 3 months

NPS: increased from 42 to 81. This is the most significant jump I have seen for this type of profile. Negative feedback regarding the experience outside of sessions has almost disappeared.

Retention: Average support duration increased from 3 months to 11 months. Clients who typically stopped after a discovery mission transitioned into longer programs, valuing the follow-up space between sessions as an integral part of the service value.

Average ticket size: Increased from €6,000 to €8,400 per mission. The coach was able to justify a 40% price increase by explicitly embedding it into the new experience offered. No existing clients contested this.

Inbound referrals: Doubled in three months. Several clients spontaneously mentioned the quality of the follow-up space as a distinctive element in their recommendations.

What made the difference

The coach changed nothing about her coaching. The method, tone, and duration of the sessions remained identical. What changed was the ecosystem surrounding the sessions. The client now knows where they stand, can access all their resources, and sees the overarching thread of their journey.

The lesson is simple: for many premium support services, the structured experience is worth as much as the content itself. Your executive clients want to feel the same level of seriousness between sessions as they do during them. The portal makes this continuity possible without additional effort on the sessions.

The trap to avoid

The risk in this logic is believing that the tool is enough. It is not enough — it amplifies. If your sessions are mediocre, a well-maintained portal will not change anything. If your sessions are good, the portal transforms a good experience into an exceptional one. That is the difference between a cosmetic effect and a leverage effect.

For an established executive coach, the total investment for Client Vault Pro plus sovereign hosting is less than 1,500 € in the first year. The investment is recovered through the retention of three additional clients thanks to the increase in NPS. With a 40% price increase, it is multiplied by ten over the same period.
